Hard to believe that the last case of #Fast & Furious Premium landed four months ago, back in June. Here we are at mix “H”, and all signs point to this being the last HNW46 case for 2024.
Two new models appear here: the #Toyota FJ Cruiser and the ’87 Chevy Caprice. Both castings are totally left field, but at the same time, welcome additions to the Fast & Furious lineup by collectors. I’m sure we will see them outside of the line as both are extremely well-done!
The Hot Wheels #’96 Nissan 180SX Type X returns to premium here. It may have been one of those “stretch” background cars that made a half-second appearance in the parking garage of Tokyo Drift, but the execution here is great and I’m sure it’s inclusion won’t garner any complaints.
With the ’18 Bentley Continental GT3 collectors raised an eyebrow at the “Race Inspired” wording that is now on the packaging since the GT3 was used instead of the street version of the Continental. The truth is, we’ve seen this before from Hot Wheels, and it doesn’t seem to hurt a vehicle’s demand. Suki’s (and Johnny Tran’s) #Honda S2000 has been released at the Hot Wheels S2000, not the movie version of the S2000, yet collectors have accepted this as a F&F movie car just fine. I’m sure this still bugs the movie purists that want a closer replica, but Hot Wheels collectors as a group aren’t picketing outside of the Mattel Design Center. Instead, each release gets scooped up quickly at retail.
Lastly, Brian’s Ford F-150 SVT Lightning gets another release in it’s Racer’s Edge deco. This is another F&F vehicle that quickly vanishes from the pegs no matter how many times we seen it redone.
