Another Hot Wheels Off Road series is upon us in #Car Culture and it may just be the best one yet! Terra Trek — a more stylish way of saying, “Terrain Journey” — sure beats the bland “HW Off Road” used last year. This mix of five exciting off-road and overlanding vehicles has finally hit in the United States.
The artwork for this series has an infinity element to it as the trucks are in a line according to their number in the series. However, after the last truck, the first truck is shown, creating an infinite line, which certainly works from an individual packaging aspect.
The Hummer H1 finally gets released in something other than the tan Fast & Furious deco after making it’s debut 5 years ago! Outside of the plastic-bodied, basics #Humvee which has been continuously produced since the 1980s, this is really the only active Hummer being produced by Hot Wheels. Hopefully we see it in a barrage of colorways moving forward.
Overlanders rejoice as the #’20 Jeep Gladiator makes it’s premium return. This premium casting actually differs from the basics version beyond the payload. This one is tooled to have more of an off-road look to it — you just have to look a little more closely. Regardless, I still group these two castings together in my casting collection, and this is a nice rendition to add to the collection.
New casting alert! The brand-new #Datsun King Cab Baja Custom makes it’s brilliant debut here in Terra Trek. Based on an existing 1:1 Datsun 720 that roams the deserts of the southwest US & Mexico, this truck is ultra-cool in it’s red/white/blue color scheme. To top it off, this casting was also chosen to be the #Chase piece in this mix and I was lucky-enough to score it in my case from 1 Stop Diecast. You can check out my video below to hear how shocked I was to pull this one.
The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 and #Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution round out this mix. With the FJ60, it’s another case where we finally get the casting in another color outside of beige/tan. For the Pajero, we finally see this casting venture into premium.
Terra Trek is hitting retail and hobby dealers in full-force with releases of Race Day and Modern Classics imminent. 1 Stop Diecast still has cases available so it’s definitely worth it to test your luck by ordering one. I unboxed one of these 10-count cases on the OTD YouTube Channel, and have a full #Case Report for you here.

Hot Wheels #Car Culture cases (FPY86) contain only 10 vehicles, unlike Hot Wheels basics cases which have 72. In this mix, you are guaranteed to get all 5 cars in the series. There are two variants of the case — with or without chase piece. In a standard case (without chase) you will get two of each vehicle. In a case with a chase, you will have the chase piece inserted for the second piece of it’s casting counterpart.
Below you’ll find the case list — all of which are seen in this video and in the images above.
In case you missed it, check out the first two Car Culture unboxings for 2024, the World Tour (A case) and Japan Historics 4 (B case). You can also check out the full CASE REPORTS here on OTD.
